Outpatient Setting

Assisting individuals (children of 3+ ages, Teens, and Adults) by providing creative client specific skill building exercises for behavioral modification in emotional regulation, expression, and ways to live more happily and independently from others through the various stages of life.

Supervision

I (Alex) was under the supervision of Les Blondino (Owner of Strategic Therapy Associates, Inc in Virginia) who was supervised under Cloé Madanes (Co-Director of the Family Therapy Institute in Washington D.C.) and currently working with an AAMFT Mentor to become an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. I provide supervision to master level students in their Practicum/Internship, clinicians working towards their residency and licensure (LPC or LMFT only), and consultation to other licensed professionals. I have received training in Functional Family Therapy, Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Strategic Family Therapy. My focus during supervision is to develop a competent awareness and conceptualization of the systemic issues within families and be able to utilize the supervisee’s own strengths and creativity to formulate sound treatment goals and interventions. I focus on potential self of the therapist issues and educate supervisees on ways to become a more ethical and professional therapist when working with clients or other collaborating professionals. I am currently a board approved supervisor for the state of Virginia.
